Ethical responsibility

Ethical responsibility

Our commitment to ethical responsibility is the foundation of the LOS Transfusion Registry and ensures that our research meets the highest ethical standards. Our study has been approved by the Frankfurt Ethics Committee, confirming our commitment to ethical practices. In addition, our registry is officially registered with the German Clinical Trials Registry (DRKS), which emphasises our transparency and adherence to international research standards.

Inclusive and democratic leadership

Our governance structure is inclusive and democratic, with a multidisciplinary Scientific Advisory Board that embodies innovation and diversity in research and medicine. This board is made up of experts from different disciplines who ensure a comprehensive approach to ethical decision-making and research oversight. Their diverse expertise guides us in our mission to advance transfusion medicine while maintaining strict ethical standards.

Commitment to the rights and well-being of participants

The LOS Transfusion Registry places great importance on the rights and welfare of all participants. We utilise informed consent procedures to ensure that participants are fully informed of the scope, benefits and potential risks of the study. Compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) ensures that personal data is treated with the utmost confidentiality and security.

Strict ethical standards and oversight

The project is subject to strict ethical guidelines that are constantly monitored by our multidisciplinary Scientific Advisory Board. This board is set up to regularly review research practices and ensure that they are ethical, transparent and responsible. By adhering to these strict standards, we aim to build trust and integrity in our research.

Transparency and accountability

Our registration with the DRKS ensures that our research is transparent and accountable to the scientific community and the public. This openness enables external scrutiny and collaboration, promotes ethical standards and strengthens confidence in our research findings.

By prioritising ethical responsibility, inclusive leadership and the well-being of participants, we ensure that the LOS Transfusion Registry operates to the highest standards of integrity and respect. Our commitment to ethics not only advances medical research, but also protects the dignity and rights of all individuals involved in our studies.
